The most important question to ask...

As a leader, the words you speak can be influential, with the ability to empower, inspire, or demoralize others.

“How may I assist you?” This question can be one of the most meaningful questions you ask someone. Using the right words will set you apart from most leaders, as you become a servant leader. Asking the right question shows others that you respect their vision and future.

The best way to show that you are a servant leader is as follows:

1 .Let your actions speak louder than your words daily

Shows you have Commitment.

Shows you have Determination

Shows that investing in yourself is essential.

2. Respect all

Don’t let someone's title determine the level of respect they deserve.

Shows others that you have respect for yourself,

Shows you have a certain standard of morals and values.

3. Give time daily to each team member

This increases productivity.

Makes others feel important and that you care.

This is a way you can share your influence to inspire others.

4. Mentor those Who Show They Are Driven

Be available when needed.

Know their strengths and weaknesses.

Believe in them and their abilities.

Challenge them in the areas they feel less confident.

5. Be in the moment

Do not have distractions when others require your attention.

Be fully committed and prepared for meetings.

Always send a follow-up note or have a follow-up call after any big meetings or situations.

6. Make education a part of your team

Creates more positive and transparent communication.

Creates more energy and productivity.

"Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it."- General Dwight D. Eisenhower

I remember I was speaking with one of my past clients from PNC Bank.  I called him to thank him for hiring me to talk to his group.  After I took 5 seconds to thank him for hiring me, he informed me not only was my presentation precisely what his team needed to hear, and he also said I was the first speaker he ever worked with that called him and said thanks for the business.  He said Marques, and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to call and thank me, let me refer you to a few other members within the bank for some possible additional work.  I ended up getting two additional jobs with PNC, only because I called the client to say thank you for hiring me to speak.

Overall I ended up doing three keynote speaking positions with PNC back, all within a period of 90 days!Your words contain more power than we realize, and it’s up to you to choose the power you want to share with others.  Will it be empowering and inspiring?  You make a choice!
